Almost Like Parmesan Cheese
This is a pouch-type version of “Umami Sprinkle,” which helps supplement vitamin B12—often lacking in vegan and vegetarian diets.
“Umami Sprinkle” is rich in minerals such as zinc, iron, and magnesium, which are essential for the growth of women and children, as well as B vitamins and folic acid.
Simply sprinkle it over salads or pasta like Parmesan cheese.
It’s a tasty way to support a healthy lifestyle—perfect for daily meals!
Traditional Sake Lees Hand-Pressed Since the Edo Period
The sake lees used to give Umami Sprinkle its Parmesan-like flavor come from Inaba Shuzo, a local sake brewery in Ibaraki Prefecture, where our company is based. The lees are traditionally hand-pressed—a method passed down since the Edo period. A byproduct of sake brewing, sake lees are packed with peptides, amino acids, koji mold, and yeast-derived compounds that are believed to support beauty and overall wellness, making them especially popular among women.
Easy to Use, Endless Possibilities
Just sprinkle it on salads, pasta, or soups as a substitute for Parmesan cheese.
You can also mix it with aonori (green laver), olive oil, and pepper for a quick pasta sauce, or add it to breading for fried dishes like cutlets and croquettes.
Try it over oatmeal or rice porridge—it’s delicious however you use it!
Comment from Yuka Yamazaki, Plant-Based Nutrition Seminar Host
“Regular Parmesan cheese made from milk contains casein, a milk protein, whereas the protein in FLAKE is plant-based, making it gentler on the gut. It's also rich in dietary fiber, which helps maintain a healthy digestive environment.
Many plant-based cheese alternatives rely on refined ingredients and additives, making them unsuitable for daily use. But FLAKE stands out for both its health benefits and taste, making it something you’ll want to include in your daily meals.
Sprinkle it on salads, pasta, stir-fries, risotto, gratin, potato salad, or soups. You can even mix it into breading for fried foods. It’s a great way to add both flavor and nutrients to your usual dishes.”
